The biggest accomplishment I got from this class is how to simpify my thought and make it serve for my big idea. For my midterm project ,I wanted to tell a story about how desire change life.So I put a lot of things in the project to state the story. However ,the project turns out to be mixed. After I get the feedbacks , I change my project step by step and at last I make my project more clear and meaningful.
The most hard technique is definitely layer-masks. It is pity to say that I still dont understatnd it now.In fact , I dont like layer-mask at all because it is easy to mix and it is too complicated and I think we can use other ways to do what layer-mask can do . I use the background erase tool instead of layermask to do all my projects and it works. The order of the layers can make the images much more different .
For my two projects , the most way I use to state my big idea is the color .For this class the most idea I get is that color has some magic power ,simply changing the color can change the meanings of the images dramatically.Take my midterm project for example: I have changed the color of the knowledge part and money part for many times. At first I choose to make the knowledge part more bright and money part more dark ,however after rethinking about that ,I choose to change a little bit . I use some dark color in the knowledge part to indicate that it is not always positive and make the money part more bright to state that people still like money although people always respect knowledge when we have both in front of us.

For my final project , I want to make a animation of the earth to indicate the big idea of peace. I will start with a flying pigeons image and then a world map with five or more pigeons plan to land to Five Continets and then I will have some points in the map. Starting with one point ,I intend to choose the symbolic buildings of Five Continets with people in front of the buildings . We will use lines to connect the five points when introducing different people and finally connect all points and make a imagine like a pigeon on the map.And then it turns to the goble with a pigeon on it.After this will be combination of the different peolpe I introduced before .I will made this imagine like what Andy Warhol did .and At last comes five different words with the five letters of the word"world". I will make the letters much bigger and add the fice peolple to the letters just as what Claes Oldenburg did and my project end with the combination of the five words that is world. If possible I want to add the song <we are the world> of Michael Jackson to my animation

Why does this artist appeal to you?
I knew Andy warhol in my Art Education 160 class. As a person always staying in front the ages, he transformed the temporal culture by catching the headlines of the society. He can find some timeless subjects in the abundant of the culture of the media.
The theme of Andy's work was the desire to be different and to be "you".The cover of <
The second artist I want to talk about is Claes Oldenburg.
Why does this artist appeal to you?
I saw his work in a book and found that it is very interesting that all his work is about unusual large daily object. so I search him online and find that the unusual size of the object have some interactive effects with peopleI think the big idea is imagination .Sometime people are constrained by the reality of the world and fail to imagine.
What do you find inspiring about the work?
The most special thing of Claes Oldenburg’s artworks is the extraordinary large subjects of our daily life ,It may looks weird if your see a apple big than you ,however, after a deep thinking ,you may begin to see problems in a total different aspect .For example.if I were a little fish what I will do if I am got caught
What sorts of questions, curiosities, inspirations arise from your encounter with the artist’s work? How will you use this artist to inspire your final project?
After I see Claes Oldenburg's Clothespin at the first time , I have no deep ideas and I just feel that it is interesting .However, when I go back and rethink his work I am inspired and I begin to think things in a different way . I would like to use this unusual ides to state my big idea in a total different way.
What stylistic components can you learn to make your work stronger?
I like Claes's idea that just change the size of the object can create some inside meanings. However ,I may would not make my work exactly the same way ,but it provides another path to reach my idea.
What approaches to making an artwork that the artist uses can help you? Changing the size of the object can make it look totally different and the thoughts after seeing it will be incredible attract and unusual .

peace and perfect world
When we refer to Gregory Crewdson's artworks, frequent words popped into our minds usually are peaceful ,lights and family .The perfect world is always the permanent motif of Gregory Crewdson's works. Today I want to talk about three images of Gregory Crewdson's all of which are set in the suburb which is so Gregory Crewdson.
The first one is one corner of a little tranquil village in the urban with few paths expands far away. The houses and the trees are so still .The spots on the road and the lights from the windows indicate that there are people in this village. One strong beam of light from the sky fell on the tree.
The second one is located in backyard of a pregnant woman's house. Two people are laying on the ground .One is sleeping and the other one playing is kind of the son of the woman . As the same as the first one there are heavenly strong beams of light fell on the people .
The third one is located in backyard of a couple's house. The couple is sleeping on the ground with nothing covering their bodies. And the big trees and the little warm light inside the house make people feel calm.
All of the three images give us a sense of peace and heaven. Gregory use the three most consecrate things: human body ,pregnant woman and the lights in his artwork to indicate his theme ,the ideal perfect world which transcends the chaos and annoyances of the life .The last one is a raw portrayals of couple of a family. Just like Garden of Eden, the image is made up of the trees, house and nothing else but two naked people. Garden of Eden is the thing people usually refer to when mention the perfect world. Adam and Eve are naked because they have nothing to cover for. Gregory use the naked elements in his work to state his desire for a honest and peace world. In addition, it is said that giving birth is the most beautiful time in the world. Meanwhile, pregnancy is considered as godliness. Gregory use this social ideas to state his annunciation theme. At last, light is usually considered as seed of the hopes that God sprinkle. Above all, Gregory use his camera present his desire to the perfect world and his best wishes to the whole human beings.
However, this is not the only thing Gregory wants to state. Just as what Gregory says his pictures must first be beautiful, but that beauty is not enough. "He strives to convey an underlying edge of anxiety, of isolation of fear".(Gregory Crewdson's Photo Alchemy, NA, 2006).Gregory’s work is like a paradox which connects the reality and the surreal world. In the first image, the village is beautiful and calm which makes the village a perfect world like the heaven. However, it is also the calm sense that leads the theme of the image to loneliness. The tranquility belongs to heaven not human reality. In real world, there should be cars, tools and walking people. In fact the tranquility represents the fear of loneliness because normal life should be very lively. The absence of these leads people to a solitary situation which is very sad and scare. The other two images seem a little harmony because of the exists of families. However, when we focus on the edges of the images we find that they are full of dark. In a word, Gregory’s work is a contradiction of peace and loneliness, light and dark, reality and metal world.
